735 Firebird Squadron - Dundas

What is the "Air Cadets"?

The Royal Canadian Air Cadets is a national organization for Canadian youth between the ages of 12 and 19. This is a result of a partnership between the Department of National Defence and the Canadian Forces and the Air Cadet League of Canada.

To become members of the Royal Canadian Air Cadets, interested youth must join a local Squadron. There are over 440 Air Cadet Squadrons across Canada.

The local Squadron meets for regular training weekly through the school year. Optional training, including sports, marksmanship and other activities are available as well.

In July and August many Summer Training Activities are available to cadets. These provide valuable training at no cost.

What is 735 Squadron?

735 Firebird Squadron was established in Ancaster, Ontario in 1963 and later moved to Dundas. Over the years, many fine young men and woman, staff and sponsor volunteers and officers have been part of the 735 family.

Former 735 Squadron cadets have gone on to be productive and active citizens here in Dundas, in Ontario, throughout Canada and abroad. We are especially proud of former cadets who have served or currently serve with the Canadian Armed Forces and the Royal Air Force.

Our current cadets participate in numerous cadet and community activities such as gliding, sports competitions, debating, effective speaking, the Legion's poppy campaign, field training exercises and so much more!

We are generously supported by Valley City Branch 36 Royal Canadian Legion, Waterdown Branch 551 Royal Canadian Legion and, on tag days, by the good citizens of Dundas, Hamilton, Waterdown and Ancaster.
