First Year Effort (Jim’s Signs & Trophies Award) |

Presented to the 1st year Cadet that strives to do the best he or she can at all times. This Cadet is enthusiastic, and their effort and determination do not go unnoticed. |
First Year Achievement (Earle & Betty Armstrong Award) |

Presented to the best overall 1st year Cadet. This Cadet has strived to do his or her best in all Squadron activities, and maintains a high standard of dress and deportment. |
Best Dressed Cadet (450 ‘Sabre’ Wing RCAFA Award) |

This award is presented annually to the Cadet whose dress and deportment are second to none. This individual's bearing and uniform are such that they set the acceptable standard for their peers. Award selected by Cadet Commander, Deputy Commander and SWO. |
Most Improved Cadet (Bob Foss Award) |

This award is presented to the cadet who has shown steady improvement in all areas of training. |

Most Valuable Cadet (Ted & Joan Dew Award) |

This award is presented to a cadet whose enthusiasm is second to none. A cadet who works hard at all times, who can be counted on in a crunch, and who attends all Squadron activities, and gives his/her all. This cadet would be hard to replace. |
Exertion Excellence |
|
Each year the Squadron participates in the Exertion Competition. This award is presented to a Cadet whose effort in the preparation of the Squadron's team and during the competition is an outstanding example for other members of the team. |
Junior NCM (James Wynn Award) |

"Awarded for a continuous effort to learn and fulfill the aims of the Cadet movement and undoubtedly will go on to be one of the future Squadron leaders. Award selected by secret ballot from all Senior NCMs. |
Senior NCM Award (Doug and Nadia Holmes Award) |

Awarded to a senior ranking Cadet who has not forgotten the aim of developing new and junior cadets. This Cadet has developed leadership skills, and can be counted on to set a good example. Award selected by secret ballot from all Junior NCMs. |
Squadron Spirit (Bernie Curran Award) |

Awarded to a Cadet whose presence at Squadron activities lifts everyone's spirit. This Cadet is generally an easy going person with a very pleasant personality. Award selected by secret ballot by all NCMs. |
Gliding Scholarship Award (Larry Gates Memorial Award) |

Presented to the top cadet achieving the gliding scholarship. |
Flying Scholarship Award (Tom Dailey Award) |

Presented to the top cadet achieving the power scholarship. |
Flag Party Commander (Arnold Herder Award) |

Catalina Award |

A wing award (shared between 58, 585, 661, 870 and 999 Sqns) each unit nominates one outstanding Cadet from their unit who promotes the spirit of being an air cadet at their unit. |
