Nationally, the Royal Canadian Air Cadets is possible through the cooperation of the Department of National Defence and the Canadian Forces and the Air Cadet League of Canada. At the local level, the Squadron Sponsoring Committee seeks partners in the funding of the extra-curricular activities and for facilities for Squadron Training. See the Become a Sponsor page for steps you can take to financially support the Squadron. YOU can become a Sponsor of 201 Squadron. Our Sponsorship Program is an excellent opportunity for your organization to show your support of the 201 Squadron and the youth of our communities of Dorchester, Ingersoll, Thamesford, Belmont and surrounding area. We need the support of the local organizations like yours to continue providing the youth of our communities a safe, active and engaging program. Although we are generously supported by Branch 513 Royal Canadian Legion, we need to raise funding to offset the costs of extra curricular activities and events we provide for the Cadets. The Squadron draws its enrollment from towns such as: Dorchester, Ingersoll, Thamesford, Belmont, and surrounding areas. At this time of the year, Cadet enrolment made up of both boys and girls is 26 Cadets on parade. Working with our Support Committee, the Cadets of the Squadron are responsible for fund raising through their own efforts; however, the annual Tag Days and sale of lottery tickets do not produce the finances sufficient to meet all of their annual training support requirements. The Squadron, which is supervised by Squadron military staff and the Support Committee, is a vibrant organization that provides our youth of the ages of twelve to eighteen years the opportunity To Learn, To Serve, To Advance in the growing process for good citizenship. Air Cadet training certainly does benefit our local youth. In the past several years, our Cadets from 201 Squadron have attended Air Cadet League Camps and received training courses such as: Band, Advanced Aviation, Sport and Fitness instructor, Drill and Ceremonial Instructor, Glider Scholarship, Power Pilot Scholarship and Survival instruction.
